Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Express Property Tax Appeals ("EPTA") website and services. EPTA is operated by Polter Law Group. By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted on this page. Your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any modified Terms.
Description of Services
Express Property Tax Appeals provides property tax appeal services for commercial property owners in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. Our services include:
- Free pre-deadline property tax defense reviews
- Property assessment analysis and evaluation
- Filing and managing property tax appeals
- Representation before tax tribunals, boards of tax appeals, and municipalities
- Negotiation with assessing authorities
Our services are limited to commercial properties and do not include single-family residential properties.
Fee Structure
EPTA operates primarily on a contingency fee basis. This means:
- No Savings, No Fee: If we do not achieve tax savings for you, you owe us nothing for our professional services
- Initial Filing Fee: We collect $1,000 at the outset to cover filing fees and miscellaneous costs
- Contingency Fee: If we achieve savings, our fee is a percentage of the savings obtained, as specified in your service agreement
Specific fee arrangements will be detailed in your individual service agreement. The free review does not create an attorney-client relationship or obligate you to proceed with our services.
No Guarantee of Results
While we have a strong track record of achieving savings for our clients, we cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes. Property tax appeals are subject to many factors outside our control, including:
- Assessment board and tribunal decisions
- Municipal policies and positions
- Market conditions and comparable property values
- Changes in tax law or regulations
Our evaluation during the free review represents our professional opinion based on available information and is not a guarantee of results.
Client Responsibilities
When engaging our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful information about your property and circumstances
- Supply requested documents in a timely manner (tax invoices, assessment notices, income/expense data, etc.)
- Respond promptly to communications regarding your case
- Notify us of any changes in property ownership, condition, or use
- Not take actions that may prejudice your appeal without consulting us first
Failure to meet these responsibilities may affect our ability to effectively pursue your appeal.
Attorney-Client Relationship
EPTA is operated by Polter Law Group, a licensed law firm. An attorney-client relationship is established only when:
- You have signed a written service agreement with us
- We have agreed to represent you in a specific matter
- We have confirmed acceptance of your case in writing
Submitting a free review request or browsing our website does not create an attorney-client relationship. Until such a relationship is established, any information you provide is not protected by attorney-client privilege.
